I provide bespoke marketing services for arts organisations in the North West – from strategic planning to hands-on help, including unlocking the secrets and marketing potential of social media. I’ve worked for huge companies with huge budgets and tiny companies with no budgets over the past 10 years, so am comfortable with large-scale marketing campaigns but familiar with the challenges faced by small organisations with limited resources.
Strategy and Analysis
I’m experienced in working with senior management on strategy, business planning, audience development, vision and branding across different artforms with different audiences. I have worked with the Audience Agency and used their Audience Segmentation tools to grow, develop and diversify visitors. I have experience running big projects such as installing new Box Office Systems; redesigning Membership Schemes; developing websites, creating social media strategies from scratch and leading regional marketing campaigns for outdoor events.
Hands On Help
I’m equally happy to get stuck in with the workings of the every day marketing machine; creating brochures, creating social media content, emailing subscribers, updating websites and proofreading. My wide network of other smiley arts professionals means I’ll be able to find that special photographer, that efficient printing company, those innovative website designers or that inspired designer to suit your needs.

Born and bred in Ulverston, South Cumbria, I started my marketing career in London working in the classical music sector. I moved into music and commercial theatre venue management, working across HR, communications, fundraising, financial planning and business management, and returned to concentrate on marketing for The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster in 2012, taking up the role of Marketing Manager.
I’m now a a freelance Arts Marketing Consultant based in sunny Lancaster, Lancashire.
